The 9/11 planners were inventive - and ruthless. But the world's lone superpower has learned al-Qaeda's tricks and hit back hard. The terrorists are on the run.
Until they up their game.
The Sheikh is a new breed of terrorist, infinitely more dangerous than his predecessors because he understands America's tremendous strengths - and her hidden weaknesses. And nothing will stop the Sheikh from showing that the United States is a Paper Eagle.
Only one American, a CIA analyst named Bridget Thorne, has the insight and courage to stop this brutal genius. But she'll have to move fast. Because the Sheikh's plan begins with a horrific massacre at a cold and lonely border crossing, and it only gets worse from there.
And if Bridget isn't clever and very careful, the Sheikh will more completely damage the United States than any other terrorist in history.

As a 30 year military veteran, accustomed to trying to "out-think" the enemies of America, I have to say this scenario is not far-fetched! Great descriptions and inventive jumps to the unexpected, illustrate perfectly why ordinary law enforcement does not work well with the terrorist minds. The enemy is not a normal criminal and Henry Martin catches that perfectly. I only hope that our intelligence agencies are contacting Mr Martin so he can help them think outside the box -- they need all the help they can get, and Henry Martins imagination could be helpful. The was a very good read and I recommend it highly!Product details

Paper Eagle (Audible Audio Edition) Henry Martin Meghan Lewis Blue Shark Publishing Books Reviews
I don't often write reviews, but I've now read the two Henry Martin books in this series and I very much enjoyed them. Lots of action; the plot direction wasn't always obvious; and the book was well-written and readable. I look forward to getting the next iteration in this series.
Henry Martin states at the end of this novel that he had tried to interest New York editors in Winter Dragon at the turn of the century, but it wasn't until electronic publishing his initial work became available to the public. I have over 400 novels in my archived kindle storage and consider Winter Dragon one the best I have read...easily comparable the wonderful early novels of Tom Clancy.
I was so taken a back that editors actually rejected this exciting, well-written, intelligent action adventure, I felt compelled to write my first book review. Best of luck on your writing career Mr. Martin...you deserve to be in the ranks of the best.
I feel we, as readers, are blessed by the advent of electronic publishing...it has had the effect of unleashing the works of so many new talented writers and storytellers.
Henry Martin is an excellent writer incorporating his Naval sub experience into his stories. This particular one is not so much submarine as just plain intrigue and anti-terrorist. It COULD happen here quite easily with bad consequences so take it to heart!
Thought this was a pretty good book. Had a good story line. Seemed to me as though it ended rather abruptly. Maybe intentional, I don't know. Felt like it kinda left me hanging though.
I cannot believe that a publisher would not pickup his novels; they are great. These books are suspenseful, exciting, and well-crafted. I hated for each of them to end. I am glad that e-books has given him an opportunity to find exposure and I hope we see more of his works.
I was quite impressed with Henry Martin's previous book "Winter Dragon" and decided to give Paper Eagle a whirl. In a nutshell I found both books engaging with good character development and a well paced plot. Winter Dragon is bit edgier with additional profanity/violence but never to excess and chosen carefully. Most chapters are only a few pages and often retell the same scene from different characters point of view. Very well done overall.
After reading "Winter Dragon" by Henry Martin, I needed more of his direct style, descriptive whilst not overly technical overviews of technology, and great pace and action.
I'll admit to being a bit confused at times with what was happening and having to re-read and re-reference sections to keep pace with the developments, It seems that Characters in this book are similar in many aspects to characters in his previous books, Henry seems to favour the slightly older but still hot excellent at her job recently divorced female protagonist in both this book and Winter Dragon... but you still care about his Characters, you Like them and you believe in them, and that can be an authors biggest challenge.
I actually preferred Winter Dragon because I think it was really Henry's home turf, writing about submarine warfare and naval tactics. This book still was a great read, highly entertaining and an interesting scenario.
I'm not going to sit here and tell you about any inaccuracies in military terms, or naval or aircraft capability or specifications, because lets face it, believable is great for most people, and fictional stories aren't supposed to be military warfare and tactics handbooks, but there are probably a few.
I was entertained by this book. You really can't do better for the price. Its engaging, smart, and at times stretches credulity. Everything a $2.99 action book should be!!
Buy this book, read it and escape your daily grind for a while. You can't really get better value for money!
